A Bunch of Players....
ABOP is a theatre and production company driven by curiosity, creativity and the urge to make something worth seeing.
We don’t follow a formula. We follow ideas. A great play. A new piece of writing. A musical. A young company ready to be challenged. A community with something to say. A story that refuses to leave us alone.
Our work moves between professional productions, community theatre and intensive programmes for young actors, bringing together different people, experiences and creative perspectives for each project. Sometimes we start with a script. Sometimes an idea. Sometimes simply the question: what if?
What matters is the work: finding the right time, the right people and the right theatrical language to bring it alive.
We take theatre seriously. We just don’t think that means it has to be serious all the time. We want to make work that is bold, imaginative, entertaining and unexpected. Theatre that takes risks. Theatre that gives people something to feel, something to think about and, ideally, something to talk about long after the curtain falls.
No formula. No fixed mould. Just a determination to make theatre that matters and theatre people remember.
